His aim was Arab unity, thus to govern the desert for themselves. He stood by King Faisal, yet, as a soldier, he could not go against his superiors.


The Mounted Arab Battalion whom he lead through the desert to take the seaport of Aqaba from the Turks


With the American journalist Thomas Lowell who reported on Lawrence's campaigns with the Arab militia.


He had a lifelong fascination for those who made brushes with danger their very livelihood.
